GOOD NEWS! OUR FIRST NEW WINE THAT IS GETTING RELEASED AFTER CORONA VIRUS CRISIS

TITANAS- A sweet red wine from Domaine Skouras. Made from an almost extinct variety that came back to the fore after many years- a variety called Mavrostifo Argous. As its name reveals it is Mavro-black and Stifo-astringent. It is a variety that easily gives a very intense, impenetrable color and very high concentration of tannins.

We have been working on Mavrostifo for more than 10 years. It is only in recent years we have made our decision that it is a variety with a great interest to us. An unknown variety, a titanic effort that came alive after many experiments, expenses, disappointments and smiles. A new wine named Titanas! Οne’s name speaks for itself.

First vinification took place in 2013. The grapes were sun-dried for eight days in September’s sun and then laid in the shade for more than a month. A crazy concentration of colors, aromas and flavors. A tiny bit of juice that was fermented for months and matured into small oak barrels for five years. A very hard work and dedicated.

It is our honor and pride that we met with this forgotten Greek variety. We wish we could see it being planted all over the world.
